Waad (here with a blue hejab) came to England and Wales on a CADFA visit this summer - see this blog for more information: 2013commonground.blogspot.co.uk
When she went back to Palestine, she went to do some feedback at her old school, Sawahreh Girls' School, and told us that the people listening to her asked why Sawahreh School didn't have the same twinning activities as the Abu Dis schools. That is how the idea of making a link between Sawahreh and Brent started.
Now Waad is in London for 3 months as an EVS volunteer working with CADFA. In early 2014, she will be in Brent for two weeks available to visit organisations and help with the twinning. If you can help her, please get in touch!

Starting a new twinning group!
There have been two meetings so far of the new Brent-Sawahreh Friendship Association - a group working for human rights in Palestine through bringing together people and groups in Brent, London and Sawahreh, East Jerusalem, Palestine.
The group is going to start off by taking advantage of its closeness to CADFA - which links Camden, next door to Brent, with Abu Dis, next door to Sawahreh... But the group is of course open to people who are not linked to CADFA and plans to go on and make its own identity!
It is great at the moment that WAAD from Sawahreh is in London and ROBERT from Brent is in Palestine ... they will help us get off the ground.
